Privacy Policy

This policy covers the MoonGraph website. It is written to be read, not to be survived. UkieLab LLC (“we”) is the data controller for the personal data described here.

The short version

• You can use the display without an account and without giving us anything. In that mode we store nothing about you.
• Your location stays in your browser unless you sign in and save it.
• We use no analytics, no advertising trackers, and no third-party cookies. That is why there is no cookie banner.
• We never sell or share your email.

What we collect

If you do not create an account

Nothing is stored on our servers. Your chosen location and display preferences are kept in your browser’s local storage, on your device. Clearing your browser data removes them.

If you create an account

• Your email address and password. Passwords are hashed by our authentication provider; we never see or store the plain text.
• Your saved location — coordinates, time zone, place name and elevation — but only if you choose to save one.
• Your display preferences (clock format, units, and which optional readings you want).
• Your consent record: whether you opted in to product emails, the exact wording you agreed to, and the dates you opted in or out. We keep this because we have to be able to show that consent was given.

If you join the mailing list without an account

Your email address, the wording you consented to, and the date. That is all.

Location

If you allow location access, your browser gives us your approximate coordinates. They are used to compute rise and set times, to look up the local temperature and elevation, and to name your location. They are held in your browser. They reach our servers only if you are signed in and save the location to your account.

You can decline location access and search for a place by name instead. Nothing about the site depends on granting the permission.

Who else sees anything

Four services are involved. The first two are called directly from your browser, which means we never see the request:

• Open-Meteo — current temperature, ground elevation, time zone, and place search. Called from your browser. Coordinates are rounded to roughly 100 metres before they are sent.
• BigDataCloud — turns coordinates into a place name. Called from your browser.
• Supabase — our authentication and database provider. It stores account data on our behalf.
• Omnisend — our email platform. If, and only if, you opt in to product emails, we send it your email address, the date you opted in and the wording you agreed to, so that it can send you those emails and honour your unsubscribe. It receives nothing about anyone who has not opted in.

Our hosting provider processes the usual server request logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) for security and reliability.

Cookies

We set cookies only to keep you signed in. They are strictly necessary for that purpose, so they do not require consent. There are no analytics, advertising, or third-party cookies on this site.

How long we keep it

• Account data: until you delete your account.
• Mailing list entries: until you unsubscribe, after which we keep a record of the unsubscribe so we do not email you again by mistake. Unsubscribing, or deleting your account, marks you unsubscribed in Omnisend as well, which stops all sending. If you want your record erased from Omnisend entirely rather than marked unsubscribed, email us and we will do that.
• Server logs: a short rolling window, then discarded.

Your rights

If you are in the UK, EU or another jurisdiction with comparable law, you have the right to access your data, correct it, delete it, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent at any time, and receive a copy in a portable format. You may also complain to your data protection authority.

Most of this you can do yourself: Settings lets you change your location, turn marketing emails off, and delete your account outright. For anything else, email support@ukielab.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Children

MoonGraph is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

International transfers

Our providers may process data outside your country. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards those providers have in place, such as standard contractual clauses.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above. Material changes affecting account holders will be emailed.
